Fortnite thumbnail maker. Put the loadout, the rank, or the win first.

Paste a link to a Fortnite video or upload a thumbnail you like, name the real gun, rank, or result, and keep it all in the game or add your photo. WThumb builds a new 16:9 or 9:16 design around it.

WHAT CHANGES

Two Fortnite briefs, with a face and in the game.

Both references are Fortnite creator thumbnails, cleaned first: the people in them became default outfits, Recruit Jonesy and Recruit Ramirez, and every player name became an invented tag. Each result is a new design from the same brief: Jonesy makes the shush beside a row of real weapons under ONE GUN ONLY, and Ramirez stands in front of the leaderboard under #1 IN THE WORLD. The face pair adds one line: keep the Fortnite character and put the creator beside it. The outfits, weapons, and board are generated, so compare them with the game before publishing.

HOW IT WORKS

How to make a Fortnite thumbnail in three steps.

Open the Studio
  1. Bring a Fortnite reference

Paste a public link to a Fortnite video in the same format as yours, or upload a thumbnail you like.

  2. Name the rule and the words

Add the real gun, rank, placement, mode, or update, and the two to four words the picture should carry.

  3. Generate it in 16:9, 9:16, or both

Keep it all in the game with a named outfit, or add your photo and say where you stand beside the game character. Each frame is composed on its own.

BUILD THE BRIEF

Tips for Fortnite thumbnails that stay true to the game.

Let the format pick the picture

A one gun only challenge wants the loadout with the one allowed gun. A ranked climb wants the rank, from Bronze to Unreal. A tournament recap wants the leaderboard row, a new season the new place or item, a win the final circle.

Name the real gun, outfit, or place

Viewers know the Pump Shotgun, the Drum Gun, a Chug Jug, the Battle Bus, and the storm on sight. Ask for the real one by name, and for a default outfit like Jonesy instead of a soldier.

Check the game details, leave the logo off

Generated weapons, outfits, and HUD pieces can drift from the game, so compare them with Fortnite and fix one thing per revision. Keep the Fortnite logo and its lettering style off the picture, and skip outfits made from real creators or pros.

QUESTIONS

Questions about the Fortnite thumbnail maker.

One gun only and one chest only challenges, random loadout and rarity challenges, ranked climbs from Bronze to Unreal, tournament and cash cup recaps, new season and update reveals, Zero Build and Reload Victory Royales, Creative maps like prop hunt or box fights, and montages. Any video with one premise the picture can show works.

Yes. Name the montage's real hook, such as a Pump Shotgun edit, a season's best clips or a trick shot, and the one or two words for it, then keep it in the game with a default outfit or add your photo. Leave out outfits made from real creators, athletes or pro players.

Yes. Choose 16:9, name the stream's hook, such as a Zero Build session or a Ranked run, and add your photo or leave it out.

Yes. Leave the photo out and the picture stays in the game: a default outfit you name, real weapons, the island, and your words. Add your photo or a saved persona when your reaction is part of the story. By default your photo takes the place of the figure in the reference, even a Fortnite character, so say what stays and where you go, for example: keep Jonesy in the frame and put me beside him.

You can ask for them by name: Jonesy or another default outfit, a Pump Shotgun, a Drum Gun, a Chug Jug, the Battle Bus. The picture is generated, so outfits, weapons, and HUD pieces like the hotbar or the storm timer can drift. Compare them with the game and revise before publishing. Leave out outfits made from real creators, athletes, or pro players.

Not reliably. WThumb generates a new image rather than pasting a screenshot, so an outfit comes back close, not stitch for stitch. Attach a clear screenshot of it as an extra image, point to it in your instructions, and check the result. If the exact outfit must appear, put your words over your own screenshot in an editor.

Yes. Leave the photo out, choose No text, and ask for the place alone, for example: the Battle Bus over the island at sunset, no player, no words. You get a 16:9 or 9:16 picture to put your own words on in an editor. Compare the island and items with the game before publishing.

A 16:9 thumbnail comes back at 2048 by 1152 pixels and a Shorts one at 1152 by 2048, each composed for its own frame rather than cropped. Tick both to get the pair from one brief; that is 2 credits, since 1 credit makes 1 thumbnail.

WThumb is free to try: new accounts get 2 free credits, no card needed, and 1 credit makes 1 thumbnail, in 16:9 or 9:16 with no watermark. Paid plans start at $12 a month.
